A long-term documentary project exploring how different forms of professional expertise shape the experience of historic gardens.

 

The project begins with Reading Rousham, following garden historian Advolly Richmond OBE. Future studies will explore how a head gardener, a landscape architect and an ecological steward each experience and interpret historic gardens through their own professional knowledge.

Together the studies explore the many forms of expertise through which gardens are understood.
